The road I’m on was once a prayer,
Begging at the feet of Jesus for what is now.
I prayed for opportunity,
A relationship with God,
For my heart to soften,
For my life to count for Jesus.
The answer came,
But not without the potter molding the clay.
I found myself on a journey,
One that broke me in every way.
I didn’t know it then,
But God used the rawness
To answer each request.
I first had to be broken,
Before I could soften.
I had to be lonely,
Before I started seeking God.
I had to understand pain,
Before my life could count.
When my Heavenly Father refined me,
That’s when prayers were answered.
So, I look back on where I came from and see,
That I’m living the answers to my prayers.
